Part 2
To integrate my paper I need to make my whole paper tie in with one main theme. I believe I should tie in all points with the idea of control of the internet. I should have linking paragraphs or ideas between each individual essay. I could also have a conclusion that links the whole paper together.

Karen asked me, How are you going to link your essays when you have 3 different topics?
I tried all along to keep a theme throughout my paper, so I dont believe it will be too difficult. The whole paper has to do with user interaction and controlling the internet through avatar sites.

John asked a very similar question, How do you link your first arguments with the argument of control? Again, my paper is already closely linked as I knew this was the point of the writing project. It shouldn't be hard to add a few linking paragraphs to pull it all together.

Juan Gris painted this picture of a guitar in 1918.
The guitar is broken up into several pieces throughout the painting. It appears to be sitting up on a table with music sheets underneath. There also looks like an eye is next to the guitar, perhaps indicating someone is going to play it.

Avatar sites are becoming so popular due to the fact that it makes keeping in touch with people much more convenient. For some people these sites are convenient due to the fact that you can leave someone a comment and they can respond hours or days later. You are no longer restricted to taking out a certain amount of time to call your friends on the telephone. These sites also help some people keep in touch with friends who live far away, rather than having to pay a long distance phone bill.

Websites such as MySpace and YouTube are extremely popular. The amount of material uploaded on such sites is drastically less than the amount of material downloaded.

Response to Draft 1 Paper 1

The summary of the Time Magazine article, written by Nicole, was extremely adequate. I believe it was well written and got the point of the article across. The only qualm I may have with her summary is the fact that she seems to infer a few ideas when summarizing the article. She says, "Before we had to stand by and watch as these very few, powerful individuals made the decisions for us. We had to sit by and know that our voice was not being heard. But now thanks to the internet we have a voice." Although I may agree that the article could have lead one to infer this, the article does not implicitly state it. Over all though, I thought it was a good summary.

The argument Nicole makes is that the internet is contributing to the obesity of America. However she also makes the argument that the internet has become a hindrance to people's social lives. Therein lies the problem I have with her argument. There is more than one argument she focuses on. Although the two may be connected, I believe she would have been better off focusing on one issue. She does provide evidence for her arguments, but most of the arguing she does herself, instead of finding evidence or support for her ideas. Perhaps if only one argument had been her focus, more evidence and support could have been found.

Nicole is the kind of person who likes to go to the beach. She seems to be very easygoing or relaxed. She is very personable and is up for meeting anyone.

The music was very chaotic at times, yet it could also be calming and peaceful.(Receptive response, subjective) At first, the music made me think of a grandfather in a foreign country singing a loving song to his grandchildren.(subjective, receptive response) Then the music became chaotic, almost non-sensical.(receptive response, criticism, subjective) However, the chaos ended abruptly and turned into a nice melody. (evaluation)This made me think of the ocean and waves crashing on the shore for some reason.(receptive response, evaluation, subjective)
