For some people these sites are convenient due to the fact that you can leave someone a comment and they can respond hours or days later. You are no longer restricted to taking out a certain amount of time to call your friends on the telephone. These sites also help some people keep in touch with friends who live far away, rather than having to pay a long distance phone bill.
